How to plan a tournament?
I was thinking about having a tournament in my own little gaming group, but the problem is, there are a couple exceptional players who are just better then everyone else. How can you set it up so that everyone can play and everyone can have a chance at winning? I was thinking of making like two different sets of competitions, or having the suckier players play each other and the best sucky player play the top good player, but that wouldn't really be entertaining in the end. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what I can do.

Handicaps could work well in this situation. Set up the good players as 3 handicap, and put everyone else at 8 or 9 handicap. That should do the trick.

Re: How to plan a tournament?
I think it should revolve all around stocks ---->
If someone KO's me, you, or shebby they get 5 points (5 for each stock)
3 for spencer and quinn...and droobs
and 2 for davies and the rest
Something like that.

They can just sit with Link and spam up B and if they connect we're toast.

And they're not that much worse then us, but if it's a one on one they're almost always going to lose to us. It would probably be like handicap 5 and handicap 7, or handicap 3 and handicap 5. Something like that.

Re: How to plan a tournament?
If you can't attack against a Link spamming up B, then you'll lose anyways. If you hate handicaps, then turn all items on Low.Prince Jesse wrote:Handicap sucks butt.Ben111 wrote:Handicaps could work well in this situation. I like items on low. And with some left out. They make the game more interesting.

What's wrong with getting hit once? That's the point of the game!
You're calling Sakurai a suck face. He purposely put the items in the game for a reason.

You should just learn to except them. Items are the way of the future.

Only 3 points... oh well. Items are the reason for smashette, smashette frowns upon those who turn items off.
